Default The Cherokee Effect

So the Jeep website has a game called the Cherokee Effect for all new KL owners, unfortunately XJ owners get Jack Squat.

From the site:

How to earn points:

Registration: 50 points
Upload Snap the Act Pic: 20 points each
Watch Videos: 10 points each
Enter Effect Codes: 10 points each
Take Polls: 5 points each
Follow Jeep® on Twitter: 10 points
Twitter Shares: 5 points each
Email Shares: 5 points per day
Referral: 10 points per friend who joins

Rewards include:

300 Points - A Jeep® Cherokee embossed keychain
600 Points - The Cherokee Effect aluminum water bottle

Yes, these prizes suck, but the point is, there's none for us.

Why would there be? They dont make any money off the guys driving a Vehicle they stopped producing Years ago. Fiat/Jeep is a large corporation why do people expect them to care what we feel or think? We arent the people they are selling to.

Then screw em, we should have our own game, The XJ Effect.

Items must be proven with pics.

Pic of your XJ passing another vehicle stuck in the snow -10 Points.

Make your own repair - 20 Points (Bonus points for consuming beer during repair)

Pic of your XJ pulling someone out of snow or ditch - 20 Points

Dog riding in front seat of your XJ - 10 Points (Bonus points if it's a hunting dog)

Dog riding in front seat while wife in back seat - 15 Points

Gun rack in XJ - 10 Points

Every inch of lift - 5 Points (No exaggeration about how many inches you have, you DON'T have 9 inches)

Hummer recovery vehicle decal - 10 Points

CB in XJ -10 Points

Pic of you using the door striker to open a beer - 10 Points (Don't use this one)

Others can probably think of more things to earn points.

I don't think getting points for a cb in a xj is fair. I am deaf and I obviously can't use a cb, so I should lose points because of that?

Ok I think I can do this...
How about 5 points for every inch over stock height your tires are?
(not that I will earn much off this yet but its an idea)

How about drop the whiny ***** feel-good gimme-free-**** thing and act like a man? Suck it up you're driing a twenty year old car built two or three corporate takeovers ago and the original owner is probably dead from cholesterol or something. Nobody gives a rats *** about following Jeep in twitter, and people that spam links to their friends should be left out in the sun to die. What the hell do you care about a bunch of posers and their online circle-jerk?

Please fill this out and get back to us.

I don't think they still do it, but a few years back they had something called "jeep appreciation days" at the mountains in the Maine/new Hampshire/Vermont where showing up in a jeep got you a free lift ticket, lunch, and potential prizes (my buddy won a snowboard for having 380k miles on his XJ) They were at a different mountain each week and it didn't matter what jeep you drive or what corporation owned the nameplate when it was made, free ticket, free lunch.

It was a pretty cool promo. If you owned a jeep you could ski or ride all season and only have to pay for gas money.

I'm not expecting jeep to give me free stuff but the jeep appreciation days was a kickass event.

many thanks, good sir. I was planning a similar response while reading his post.

I wonder how many trophies he got despite the fact he sucks at sports.
