cherokee is a unibody, so body lift is out.
usually trucks and suvs are designed with the main body (cab, bed) over a frame. the frame is the two rails that you see under the vehicle going from the front bumper to the back bumper.
frame carries your engine, transmission and axles.
body lift is putting spacers between the main body and the frame to make the vehicle stand taller.
suspension lift is putting longer suspension components (coils, leaf springs, shocks) to increase the height from the axles to the main body.

They are exactly as the are listed. The suspension lift is made of suspension compnents that raise the vehicle. A body lift raises the body off of the frame using spacers. BUUTTT you can not do a body lift on a Cherokee because it is a unibody vehicle. That meaning the frame and body are made together and do not seperate.

jeep cherokees are unibody, meaning that the frame is attatchd to the body, so being that we can not get body lifts only suspension, the difference is, body lift just lifts the body of the vehical, suspension changes out all the shocks and springs and other parts

A little advice on buying a lift if you are planning to do one. The most expensive does not mean the best, but the cheapest always means the cheapest. Take your time and do some research to find out which lift will best fit your needs and perform for what you want to do with it. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for quality. This site, and a few others dedicated to the Cherokee, will provide you with a wealth of knowledge on maintaining and modifying your Jeep. Join the forums, ask questions, and enjoy the great outdoors.

I have a 6.5 and I use it everyday. So you should be fine with the 4.5 it just takes getting used to.
If anything I noticed it handled better than the old suspension.

I drive my 4.5" every day, and it handles better than it did stock. It looks tall, but isn't hard to get in and out of at all.
