Default Anyone ever run nitrous on a 4.0??

Just wondering if anyone has any experience using nitrous on a 4L. The mud drags we go to have a 4 and 6 cyl open class now that I would like to run in the spring. I have a complete spare setup laying around that I could throw in. I'd like to know how they hold up though. I know they're kind of prone to blowing head gaskets in stock form I know nitrous wouldn't help that. I have a set of stock Mustang injectors I was going to throw in and it will be a wet kit. I'd like to run around 100 shot. Hell I've been needing a reason to blow up the 4.0 anyway and swap in the 5.0

The engine may be able to handle it, but can the transmission and axles?

Why in the world would anyone want a nitrous shot in an XJ that wasnt built for street/strip/show? And....why would anyone NOT want to run our I6, 4L!?!?!?!?! One of the most reliable and easy to work on motors ever built. Some stuff is beyond me I guess.

My axles will handle it. Not too worried about the tranny. Was just curious how the motors hold up. I've used it on plenty of different things just want to know what to look forward to.

Nitrous has it's use for more than drag racing. Hill climbs, mud bogging, mud racing... Although it is usually full size rigs doing all that... I don't judge.

Damn, talk about killing creativity. Just because it isn't the norm doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. Frankly I'm sick of seeing this kind of crap. I'd say go for it if you've got it laying around, maybe toss on a better head gasket if you're that worried about it.

Just a piece of advice tho if you do. Beef up the tranny tunnel and floors. I've seen a needle bearing come through a floor and get stuck in the lower leg bone of some dude. Scatter shields are your friend in this case I think.

because they want to make big power more reliably and efficiently than a 4.0L engine based on 1970s engineering can?
