Default 60" Hi Lift Jack Storage

So, I bought a 60" Hi-Lift jack. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for where I'd be able to store it inside of the Jeep? I saw something for under the rear seat, but it'd be a bit hard to fit the 60" jack under there... Any other ideas? I'd prefer to keep it inside, don't know if that's doable without having the 48".

I have my 48" under the seat. I don't think you'll be able to safely store the 60" in the cab. Keep in mind that the vehicle will be bouncing around, would be dangerous if the jack comes loose and strikes someone in the cab. If you do find a location to mount the jack in the cab, make damn sure it's mounted solid. 3/8" bolts through bolted on a solid piece of metal on the chassis at a minimum.

I do like the idea of having it under the seat, I just know I can't fit the 60" under there. I was considering returning it and getting the 48" so I can store it, but I just need to make sure it'll still be able to lift the car (it should with no issue).

My understanding is 48" will handle all but the highest lifts. I have 5" of lift on 33s and the 48" will handle that. The biggest issue is finding a suitable jacking point, you'll have to install those. Also, strapping the axle up so you are not unloading the suspension when lifting.

I have stored hi-lifts using various methods. It's rarely used but there if needed. Usually the bar is stored on outside of jeep on roof basket or mounted to rear bumper. Foot, lift mechanism and handle is stored under rear seat to keep it out of salt air.
A hard case is also made for the hi-lift, 48" and 60".
48" is plenty tall for jeeps and will allow three feet of winching. The 'lift-mate' is a handy accessory too.

I have the Hi-Lift Ultimate 60" jack with most all the acc's for it. I have used mine for a winch several times even while the winch mounted on the front of my XJ. I have the Hi-Lift cover that covers only the jacking mechanism that I keep well oiled it seals that part very well.

Mine is stored on the rear bumper and before that in the roof rack.

Steve,
What is that triangle deal you have mounted in your receiver hitch? Looks like it would play hell on the front of a Civic.

Looks to be a step to get up to the roof rack. My grandpa has one on his truck haha.

Smittybilt "beaver bar". Other companies make something similar. Its a step and a tow strap point.
