Default 6.5" and 35's no re-gear?

How will it drive if i get a 6.5" lift 35's and use stock gearing?
Also how much does it cost to get it regeared if I do it my self?
Is it hard to regear?

Well, you didn't give any info on your Cherokee, so I have no idea. Transmission, and gear ratios would help. If you have 4.10s they would work, 3.73s may work 3.55s for 35s with a 6.5 inch lift would suck bad, 3.07s would be useless!!
Gears are hard, and if you don't know if they are hard you can't do them.

It will drive like a slug.

A Regear you're looking at around 1200. Give or take a few hundred depending on different parts and labor rates

Don't do it yourself , unless you're willing to buy the correct tools and spend the time researching how to correctly do the job

35s and stock gears your Jeep wont be able to get out of its own way, I did it for a few months and its was real slow up hills and hard on the transmission.

You can lift it and run the 35s for a bit but you will need to save the dough to regear asap.

Regearing is not an easy job, and should be done by someone that knows what there doing with the right tools.

I'm running 35s on my rig with 3.55 gearing. it does kinda suck not having much power but yet its not that horrible either. as soon ad I can find a way to get some cash in going 4.56 or 4.88. You shouldn't do it yourself unless you have the money to invest in tools and have been taught how to do it/done it before.

Default Gears arnt that hard.

All you need is a dial indicator 15 bucks.
Master install kit, torque wrench
Freezer makes getting the ring off the Carrier. The pinion is the fun part but it's not hard. Just keep everything clean have some patients and watch lots of YouTube. Get r done in a few to 6 hrs.

Well, there's a bit more to it than that...

Well I'd rather it be an old post brought up than a new post...shows me that people are actually searching and reading, LOL....

Ya I know it's old. I just put that out there so someone didn't get discouraged and go take it to a shop to get raped for there money. I've done it myself and sticking the carrier in the freezer was the best advice someone gave me. Ring gear popped right off with a little tappy tappy. Idk just saying it ain't hard.

Yep and it ain't rocket science. Running stock gearing and 35's myself. OD is worthless. But it's got decent power. Very good power in low range. Braking is less than I want. But gears won't fix that.

If I was rock crawling then I could see gearing it. Or if I was a daily driver. But i do neither. Just a trail play toy. And it's perfectly fine.

I will gear it. I would like to. Just not a priority.

I think the most important reason to regear is to save your transmission. No power and bad gas milage aren't fun, but not really bad for the vehicle. 35s on stock gears would kill a transmission.

My plan is 35s, 4.56s, and a tranny cooler with a temp gauge
