What are the mirror lights called? Are they just regular pods that you rigged to your mirrors or are they made specially for that use?

They are regular cube LED pods. Any brand will work!

Did you get yours from inspired engineering? I don't really know much about lighting, especially LEDs, so I have no clue what to look for/get in terms of the pods. What pods would be the best bang for my buck or what do you recommend?

Thanks! I looked at all 3 and from what I've seen, the pods are all roughly in the same ballpark. Would it be best to get spot or flood lights?

Depends where you mount them on your jeep what beam pattern you need.Do you have any other lights or plan to add more later on?A basic of what should go where

Fog lights always go below the headlights
Driving lights at headlight level or slightly lower.
Flood lights belong in front at or slightly above the headlights.
Spot/pencil beams should always be mounted overhead to minimize glare and to increase the usable distance.

Their Web site shows their light bars have lower lumen flux than my LED Warehouse light bars.

Maybe they look brighter to you because the people you're comparing to are using Epistar light bars instead of CREE like yours and mine.

That or different levels of CREE leds. There's like 5 levels they could use in light bars. Fck runs the xml or xlm. The 2nd brightest or brightest there is. The $100 CREE light bars are the lowest level. And the lumens from the highest 3 watt CREE won't be the same as the lowest 3 watt. But like I said, I've owned many light bars and it's like night and day with these to the others.

I would really love one of Wurton's 5-watt bars.

So just a question... im going to be buying this rack in the next few weeks... and probably a light bar to go with it. http://www.jcroffroad.com/product/XJRK-A.html

How often do you guys actually have need for a light bar like that? I mean ive had KC lights for quite a few years and Ive only NEEDED to use them a handful of times... Even 4x4ing at night, I cant use them much as I am never alone and they blind the person in front of me. Pretty much the only time I do use them is the 5 miles of dirt road up the mountain to my house at night. Occasionally ill have to use them coming down the mountains after hunting or backpacking but really its only a few times per year and I live in one of the most sparsely populated states in the country.

I am just wondering if the cost is actually worth it or if its mostly just for looks. And if it is mostly for looks, are the Ebay ones really all that bad? I have a set of ebay led fogs that blew my hella fogs out of the water... Some of the ones on ebay are "Cree" as well.

Side not.. any pics of a curved 50" on an XJ?

My upgraded headlights are bright enough that the only thing I need extra light for is flood to see off to the sides for roads, signs, campgrounds, etc. I have a big flashlight for that. I got the light bar because I like light.

I never really "need" mine. I just like to be able to see waaaay in front of me and around me clearly.
You can buy a cheap eBay one but they're probably only IP67 rated and will get water or condensation in them and aren't near as bright as quality ones. Like I said earlier, there are different levels of leds. So just because it says CREE doesn't mean it's gonna be as bright as the rest.
