Default 33" Tire Help

So as I said in my last post: I just bought 33" x 12.5" tires and a set of 1.5" wheel spacers that I'll be putting on my 1993 Xj that has a 4.5" lift. Other than the lift, the jeep is stock. Will I nee to/should I change anything else out on my Xj?

Thanks,
Mike

12.5 tire is pretty wide for a stock 7 inch rim. doable, but not ideal.
and even with the spacer, you will likely still rub on the lower control arm, so keep that in mind if you ever need to have it inspected.

You need to buy some steel wheels a 15X8" with 3.75" of BS they run from $40 something up and throw away the spacers, A 7" wide wheel is really much to narrow and caged is correct about the control arms, adj. ones with 4 1/2" of lift.

Oh yes and an SYE and new driveshaft, brake lines, etc. you need to have checked the list first on what was required fir that size lift.

I had spacers once on my jeep. Very scary feeling going down the highway at 70 mph. I took them off a month later. Not worth the risk IMO since I do highway driving most of the time.

I run 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing along with 1.5" wheel spacers and STILL rub the control arms on 35x12.50's. I run her down the highway no problem. Just keep in mind, all that extra leverage will wear steering/suspension components out faster i.e. balljoints and wheel bearings.

Red locktite on wheelspacers and torque properly, they'll never come off. And if they're aluminum, use some anti-seize on the mating surfaces so they don't get stuck together. Makes it a PITA to get them off!

And to add to the OP, 33's on 4.5" of lift requires plenty of bumpstop if your fenders aren't trimmed.
