Question 32" Tires with stock gears?

Honestly, how do 32" tires function with the stock gears? I would like to order 32" tires with my lift, but I'm worried I will have to replace the gears. Is it a matter of significant power loss?

Let me know, and if I absolutely need to do the gears, what is best for a daily driven XJ on 32" tires?

Gas mileage and acceleration will be reduced. If that doesn't bother you then stock gears will be fine. What gears do you have now, manual or auto transmission?

i run 33's on a 4.0 with a manny, I find it fine for me, i also have an intake, exhaust, upgraded ignition, tho... But like i said it works well, still accelrates amazingly well. And gas mileage is not to bad, but for highway its not the best, but it works i can travel at 80 just fine.

Didn't ask about the motor, but the tranny. Anyway for best performace you should plan for minimum of 1 to 2 ration step up Numerically. So if you have a Auto Trans, with 3.55 gears you will wnat 3.73 or 4.10. I would do 4.10 gearing, IMO.

Ha, my fault, long night, it's an auto.

Do 4.10 gears require a different case though, or can I just buy the gears and be ok?

If you have C8.25 rear end no, flat lip on bottom of pumpkin. If you have D35 yes, round pumpkin. You will need to replace both the front and rear gears and If you are not experienced, I would take to somebody how is. Can cost more than $1000 to have it done. So be real sure you need 32" tires or to regear before you do it. Lots of people run 32" and stock gears, because of the cost. This is why I run 31" and 30" tires. Regearing is expensive.
