3000$ To spend on XJ parts
I've owned an XJ for about two years and haven't done too much with it, just a 3 inch lift&minor cosmetics and repairs. Since the time I've owned it I also bought a beautiful 1983 CJ7 in great condition and that's taken my focus for a while, but its honestly not the best daily driver. With that I decided I wanted to work on my XJ and fix it up the best I can. Recently I have had to do a few repairs the latest thing was the Crank shaft position sensor, because with that thing bad the jeep would cut off going 55mph in the middle of the road and at times not start up for hours.
So in short Im looking to spend no more than 3,000 on the XJ to make it more of a fun/nice ride. It currently has 15" rims 3" lift, 29" tires. Some Ideas I have would be 31x10.5 tires since the 3" lift is made to handle that size tire, maybe aftermarket fenderflares, new front and rear bumpers to replace all that plastic mess on it. Things like that. Please if you have any ideas or suggestions on something you did to your XJ to improve the looks/feel of it please let me know, im not sure what I should focus on with the budget I have.

How is the jeep used? Mainly a streeter and occasional offroad beater? All street?
Can't go wrong with armor or recovery points.

LOL long arms with 29in tires...
OP I'd definitely go up to some 31s but not with aftermarket flares because then they will make the tires look to small. Well IMO anyway.
This is a nice front bumper for the price. https://sites.google.com/site/creepyfabrication/bumpers I wish they made a back bumper.
Curved led light bars look good.

What lift do you have? If you have cheap white body shocks some bilstein 5100s would help ride quality and if your shackle angle is off some shackle relocation brackets can be had for 100 bucks. http://hdoffroadengineering.myshopif...ation-brackets
With 3k you have quite a bit of options.

id go with chromoly axle shafts from yukon, rust cleanup, armor, beef up cooling system etc. but as roninofako said it really depends on what your going to use it for. you can do ALOT to an xj for 3 grand. let us know what you want to do with it and there people that would be more than happy to build you a wishlist XD

I wasn't saying with that cash it wasn't possible. I was just lol-ing at that image of that. 4.5 inch long arm would probably ride better than a 3 inch short arm.

Honestly if you're keeping it as mainly a street rig I'd recommend staying at 3" and putting 31s on it. At 4.5" you'll want long arms or control arm drop brackets because your ride quality will suffer.
You could waste your money on bumpers and lights and flashy stuff that will make people go ooh and ahh, or you could buy some quality stuff to really improve your XJ.

On mine with 3" of lift trimmed fenders ran 33x12:50x15's on steel 15x8" wheel with 3.75" of BS.
Single biggest 2 improvements I have made to my XJ out of all of them are when I installed gears and lockers. Increased 5 mpg over the 3.55 gears, no more transmission over heating from up/down shifting, more power and went places in 2WD where I had to use 4WD in the past.
I only regret that others had not pressed me to do this sooner instead of everything else in the order they were done. All were needed so that's not the point its just this shadowed the others by so much more.
