Hello All-

I am new here but have a question to anyone who has done a roof tent like the ones offered by Tepui Tents.

I am looking to purchase one but I am concerned about the weight (180 pounds) versus my roof rails and which cross rails I should get (I have factory rails and crossbar currently). I know on the older Cherokees people use gutter mounts but the 09 is rounded and that option is out.

Looking for any helpful info. Maybe the rails will work with upgraded cross rails but I am hoping someone with an 09 Cherokee or similar has already been down this road.

My RTT and awning, on my XJ, is mounted on 4 bars and 8 gutter mounts, so I am not of much help. But, I did come across this build; which may be of help to you.
