I had never welded so can't give a review or comparison.
With it I 'welded' perches on rear axle for bumpstop contact (difficult), sway bar mounts to axle, JKS mini-skids, made sway disconnects, lengthened rear sway links, and made a hi-lift mount.
Did not have any duty cycle issues. However my early welds looked like boogers, asteroid impacts and space debris. Flap disk is a novice welders friend.
Welds are 3 years old now.

Thanks...but wait until you see what's in my head for after I get my stiffeners installed. Thinking hybrid cage, part internal, part external, with comp cut fenders and a fully caged spare tire mount...this is all very far away, but I'm thinking hard on it until then. Have done some stuff in BendTechPro that I'm keeping in reserves for now. By the time I'm ready to do it, I'll have a solid design.

Here's a handrail I built onsite for a buddy of mine. 2 inch 120 wall. Notched with a portaband and stick welded in the wind. With a palm branch roof a couple feet away. Welded fast so there would be less sparks having the possibility of starting a fire.. lol

I'm no welder, but I'd say that still looks pretty good providing the circumstances.

Well today I tore down my rear bumper and made some bends on a front bumper with different tube. Tomorrow I'm going to cope notch some other steel and weld them to my top and bottom rails. I will post pics when I do

I made this for myself when I build some cages a while back. It makes it super easy to measure your interior space and calc angles..

It works like a bevel square/angle finder with the tube radi built in. sorry for the bad photo.

Practicing my cope welds. I know it still looks like crap but it looks a lot better than my first weld.

when you weld a surface to an edge like a tube miter, keep your puddle further away from the edge. The edge will melt much faster than the surface. The direction you point the arc makes a difference also. It looks like you need more amperage also.

Great advice . Also I feel that if he prepped the surfaces a little better it'd give him less contaminated welds.

Ditto! Prep, prep, prep, and then make sure it got prepped.
