I have a 98 and like this ideaMy factory switches stopped working so i cut them out(same factory panel, just chopped it up) got a sheet of 1/8-3/16 sheet metal cut to size and i used rivets to hold it to the plastic panel.. drilled 6 holes for number of switches
1 & 2 are fan and aux fan ( i run dual electric fans)
3. Fog lights
4,5,6. Are empty but all wires lead out under dash for easy wire up.
i took out the factory rear wiper and defroster.. its miami it doesnt get that cold.

None of mine are through relays, but im hard wired to the fuse block under the hood.. and then leads to a fuse block that i put under my dash.. all fuses are 20 amp, so if its tries to pull more or shorts it will cut power

I added 4 switches next to my shifter. Put the wiring through a Molex plug if I ever have to take the console out.
