we had to come up with some cheapo's. Heres what we did:

Got some of the rigid yard trim from Home Depot. 14 bucks





Then we got some aluminium angle from Home Depot. 18 dollars total




Then we slit the aluminium to bend



Then rivited the trim in between the angle iron and a piece of straight stock


then screwed it to the fender


I know it aint pretty, but should keep the mud off the windows, and get us past inspection. What do you guys think? Jonathan (my 16 yo and the owner of the jeep) is really liking this "Built not bought" concept!

hey man, worse comes to worse after you pass ya thake thme back on an build something you like better. but they arent close to as bad as some rigged fenders ive seen on trails. actually its a neat idea cause if they should break they are easily replaced. but at the end of the day its what you like not what we like

Good job on the idea. If you guys can weld, why not make a set of metal flares? I made some from pipe bought at HD, and some sheetmetal and steel angle. They came out ok and I'm very happy with them.

I did virtually the same thing.. with spending any money on the angle. I split the round bulb portion open and slipped that around the fender lip. Then ran the sheet metal screws through the fender.
