short shaft auto shifter anyone?!?
so i had a bright idea and decided i wanted to make my auto shifter shaft shorter and this is what happened
started off with this after changing the "t" handle to a pool ball
borrowed a grinder with a cut of wheel and cut the shaft at the height i wanted
then flipped the plastic thing rod whatever you wanna call it over and slid it down until it pushed the release and cut it off at the height i needed
(forgot a picture of this part)
then i turned it around the right way stuck the pool ball back on top and thought how could i make this stay and not be loose
also trimmed a little of the top so the ball would sit just a little lower
so i went back to the spring i originallly used and slid it in the ball and over the shaft and it sits decently tight for now until i can maybe think of a different way to attach it
but i think i like the look of the spring wrapped around the bottom

not doggin on you, but why? i dont see the point in having a short AUTO shifter......maybe so you can more efficiently use the ashtray?
and one more thing......please give your jeep some love and clean it!!!!! it will like you better.

the white part sticks up and the spring helps to allow me to push it down and keep it in place
plus half the time my white push down hasnt worked seems to wanna work when it wants to
right now i have it pushed all the way down and its holding in that spot ive gotten used to it not working so theres no issue there for me

I've been debating on getting rid of the crappy t handle myself, I have a b & m pro stick in my hot rod, and I just dont like handles anymore.

So i dont mean to hi-jack your thread or anthing but i took a army surplus grenade that i had in my truck and yanked the t-handle off my jeep, i made the hole in the bottom of my grenade a little bigger, and inside the shifter rod there is a white plastic piece that you can pull out and put back in and without it you cant shift. so what i did is superglued the white plastic thing to the inside of the grenade so now when i pull the grenade off it comes with it and it is impossible to shift. and its an antileft system for when i take my doors off cause all i got to do is pull it off throw it in my glovebox lock it and it cant go anywhere. oh and plus now all you have to push the whole grenade down to shift instead of the crappy side button
