PlastiKote Gallon of Truckbed liner is only like $38 bucks at wally world, although I think they switched to rustoleum brand now. I painted my whole jeep with it, and no problems with it peeling at all. Its all about proper prep.

It is 100% prep. If you prep good it will last, If you skimp on prep it will be a never ending pita. I just finished my floor and it came out good, I work at roofing company thats why i figured i would try it (tons of it layin around). Hey someone had to be the guinea pig!! So far no issues no smell no melting!! Went wheeling for the first time since coating. I even had an overheating issue (so it was as hot as it would ever be) and no smell or melting whatsoever. Everyone is different. I myself dont have 38 bucks to shell out for bedliner. I obviously wouldnt use this on the exterior cuz it doesnt look great but for replacing as much of the floor as I did (complete passengers side) the metal roofing sealer worked fine. It sealed the new panels nicely.

prep is key...but i'd be concerned about heat melting it. report back your long term results renix beast. i think just the tub of herculiner by itself is like 26 bux...thats pretty cheap.

I used the roofing cement, then i coated it with bedliner spray(rattle can). It dried nicely. I'm not sure everyones on the same page, IT IS NOT TAR it is cement/sealer for mobile home metal roofs its gray says right on the can that it dries hard but flexible. All I can say is it worked for me. I will post if I have any issues in the future.

hey cool sounds like it worked out for you. Glad to hear it. I was curious about it and thought the original post said roof tar. Then I re-read and yeah its cement. Silly me.

Pretty cool to try something like that out though. I actually remember using that stuff in the middle of the summer to paint my dad's tin roof man was that hot sticky messy work. but yeah it dries pretty solid.

I had almost forgotten about that horrible summer on the roof. lol

I am also a roofing contractor.I have to disagree with you on using some products though.I have used uncured epdm under door panels, works great.Pourable sealer on the floors,it self levels and is excellent insulation.Walk pads for floor and cargo mats.Metal roof seam sealer dries very hard and works just as good if not better than bedliner, plus it's white and matches my jeep.I fully adhered a 60mil epdm floor in my old bronco,Looked great and was super easy to clean out.Used torch down modified for a floor before too.Took awhile to torch it all, I used a little torch.

Once my axle swap is done I will be yanking my carpet and lining the inside of my Jeep with PEEL N SEAL!!

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...17-81326-PS625

ha ha. But for real, tons of guys have been using this. Seems to work awesome and is cheap and easy to get, just drive down to your local Lowes or Home Depot. If nobody else tries it I'll post up when I do it. If you google it you'll find a ton of write ups on it.
