cool, i'm interested to see what you've done.
i still have to make mine up, but my rockers are still solid. so i'm gonna make square sliders that bolt up to the pinch seam underneath, then bolted to the frame/stiffeners.

Hello,

Status report.

Picture one supplies, HD Eng 10ga frame stiffeners, 2x6x0.125 and 2x2x0.125.

Picture 2, Carnage.

Looking down the rocker you can see the 3/16 pushed in the Bars should be horizontal not at a 30 degree angle up.

Picture 3, More carnage.

Here looking up from the floor you can see 1 " of the bottom of the door ( White paint ) the rockers are pushed back that far. The tube is 1 1/4" 1/4" wall tube.

Picture 4, less carnage the other side is not as bad, for comparison, you can just see the edge of the door skin, ( thin white paint line ). But actually the sheet metal is pushed way back, the 3/16 plate has sprung back, there is a 3/4" gap between the rocker sheet metal and the 3/16 rusty skids.

Next step, wait for slightly warmer temps , curently 10 Degrees, heat the garage start choping.

Will update again, as soon as I have some progress, may be time to put heat in the barn.

as to the subject of the sheet metal being weak, well when you have about 18 feet of welds per rocker, i doubt its going anywhere.

OK,

This weekend is THE weekend.
I will strip the interior and start cutting the old stuff out.
I also need to pull the cross member and beat what's left of the unibody back into shape so the stiffners will fit.

I will post progress pictures this weekend.

Hello,

Got the old rocker guards cut off.
Got the unibody frame rails cleaned up ( underbody coating and paint ).
I had to slit the unibody rail and pry and pound the dents out, so the stiffners will fit, after welding the stiffners on. I will weld the slit closed and plate it.

Got something in my eye so Sunday was a bust.
Plus Mothers day.

Will post pics soon.

C'mon man! 5 months!

My rockers were 50-70% rotted away, so I finished cutting them all out yesterday.

Guy's

Sorry this is taking so long.
I am still getting used to the new pecking order.

Old order: Jeep, wife, guns, house, garden then me ( Yes she knows the Jeep is ahead of her I have had the Jeep longer than the wife )
New order: Crumb snatcher, Wife, Job, House, Garden, etc, etc, Jeep, Me, Guns .

Will try to get back on course, but with no wheeling trip on the immediate horizon it keeps getting bumped.

Hello,

OK 3 weekends ago I got the old rocker skids off and was able to survey the damage.
Got the left side unibody rail cut open and moved around I also have the frame stiffiner loosely fitted, it had to be cut and shaped due to my long arm brackets and coil conversion brackets and custom cross member.

Here are some carnage pictures, Before pics.

Passenger side qtr carnage.

Passenger side rocker carnage.

Passenger side unibody rail dent.

Thanks
