Default Rear storage cabinet

I desided I needed a place to put stuff in the back of my jeep because I have subs,

so I looked around on here got a few ideas then came up with my own.

So I pulled the subs out and wow thats what the back of my jeep looks

So I cut my 1/2 in plywood 40 in wide and 27 deep

Then I cut my 2x8s to length and screwed them on

I ripped a 2x8 to 1 in and screwed it to the front for extra support

Then I made a door and mounted it using 3 hinges

Next I pulled the lid back off and covered it in a grey vinal that was the hard part but I think it turned out nice

Then i did the lid the same way and mounted it

it took me about 5 hours to build and probly 4 of that was covering it with vinal. I bought about $102 in materials and that cause I bought high grade plywood and vinal.

Looks good man. Nice work! The extra cargo space will come in handy I'm sure.

Are those 15 inch subs? If they are it seems like they would be choked out because of the size of the box. I have one 12" L7 with 1200 watts and my box is at bigger than yours! My box is 3.05 cubic ft with a port tuned to 32 hz and it is painfully loud when I crank it! I know those are kicka** subs it just doesn't seem that they would be able to pound like they should in such a small box.

thanks for all the positive feed back and their 12s the box is built to the same specs that kicker builds and i love them. their not mounted down yet i still have to do that because it could slide around a bit because the vinal is slick.

ill probly drill holes threw the bottom of the sub box into the storage box and then run bolts threw then put the subs back in and you might have to click on them then close the window that comes up and they might be their

That's not a lot of room for groceries. Nice work though.

I just recently did the same thing by building a drawer in my trunk. By far the best thing I ever did! I wasn't trying to be a D**K by asking about your subs I love my L7 I guess I just built the biggest box they recommended with one sub rather than building a smaller more conservative version! I had my L7 in a smaller box at one point and it was still awesome. But from now on after building this big box I will never go back to smaller boxes the improvement is ridiculous!

finally had time to get everything mounted down so no more sliding around and my subs getting unhooked used 4 L shaped brackets on the outside think itll work good
