Question Need some opinons

Ok today I rugdoctored the interior, along with that tough stuff upholstery cleaner. Everything is really clean but, the carpet in the very rear is beyond trashed, i mean almost straight black. Im thinking of tearing that up and recarpeting. Any pointers or just go with it agian lol Thanks

either go for it or completely rip it out n rhino line it. mine started out looking great untill i started using it for tools n i left my partially rusted chain back there now its no better than my stained up shop floor haha. im thinkin about doing some rhino lining myself. the only down side of it is that the noise of things moving around back there and outside noises aren't as baffled or quieted anymore, which kinda sucks. it should be pretty easy to just change out the carpet though, ive seen alot of good carpet in the junk yards for jeeps.

Alright thanks now if i rhino line it will i have to remove all the interior carpet or can i just cut out the hatch area carpet? Because it looks like the carpet from the wheel wells in the back run to the back seat carpet, will having that carpet cut out effect any of the backseat carper?

no they dont conect at all. it just runs under the seats n stops right at the lip toward the front of the back seats, youll see what i mean when you lift them up. sorry for such a late response you probably already figured that out lol.

With mine, I removed the back cargo area carpet and used bed liner, now I have an old blanket down because the whine from the fuel pump got annoying.

ya i figured you would hear more noise n it would be annoying after awhile. maybe just make the lining like an inch thick haha that might work.

you could just pull it out and take it to the car wash. hang it on the floor mat hooks and hit it with the foamin brush. scrub it down and pressure wash it till the dirt stops runnin out. then once its dry just go get a 6 dollar can of carpet dye and its good as new

You can buy replacement carpet kits on line, or you can go to an upholstery shop and get a good color match on a piece and just put it in. There are cargo strips and tie downs to help hold it in. Mine is trashed, and this is what I will do. Carpet and head liners hold down the noise and make the XJ more enjoyable to drive which is why I have an XJ instead of a YJ
