Ok buddy says there should be a constraint called "bolt-hole" where you can set the dimension of the movement.

If you add shocks you can give the constraints to the stem of the shock before the JJs run out...

Yeah if i add shocks, it will control the axle from moving side to side and also over drooping/ bumping. But The JJ's would still swivel around in the bracket. Im gonna try to get them contrained with that bolt hole function.

Are you in highschool? Most colleges usually switch to 3D after the first semester.

Thats where i got lucky! I took Drafting/autoCad classes in highschool. So when i got to college, i could exempt out of all the easy classes. Went straight to MEchanical desktop, Then Solidworks, then Inventor, Then Pro/e....then came the fun advanced classes where you work with surfaces, plastic design, sheet metal, and all the other applications and stuff. That stuff was really cool!

i had drafting in highschool and my first semester in college was 3d with catia. I want to learn how to do the suface design and sheetmetal design but i dont have much time to play with it. I think next year ill be using solidworks though.

This my idea of a bumper with tire carrier that even an inexperienced fabricator such as I (hopefully) can make Its made in Inventor 2010.
When trying to get parts to not intersect in an assembly while moving them around, I suggest using "Contact Set" together with properly placed constraints. That helps me get the desired limitation of movements I want...most of the times
In version 2011 there will be an option for easily setting limits to constraints. But don't tell anyone I told so... its still in Beta

Best regards from Sweden!

I cant get the pictures any bigger... But it looks to be a pretty straight forward design!

Yeah we just got the inventor 10 update at work... So ive been messing with that on my free time. I just hate the Dummy toolbars. I guess im more of a classic guy though.

Limits to the constraints would be killer!

I used the 3 old bumper bolt hols + a hole behind the steering gear box and the sway bar bolt hols. then ran a squire thick wall 1x1 from the back of the mount to the out side ends of the bumper. I bilt my bumper like this because of my winch reserve, mounts and my XL just thote it might help??? its over kill but, it wont brake or brake my frame
