i would actually kinda like that lol cuz sometimes when i dont have more room for my buddies, a friend or two will chill in the trunk, so instead of them having to wait for us to let em out they can let themselvs out hahahah

Yes it is one solid piece, and no it wasn't that expensive. Because it is going on top of sturdy metal I only got 1/8" thickness. This thickness was easy to work with and look great. I went directly to a metal supplier in town and I think the piece I got was like $50, and I have some extra left!

I used the pines that have the holes down them for the cotter pin, I took 8 washers and welded pairs of two together so it was like 4 thick ones, I welded one of the pairs to the inside of both the pins and the others can slide on the other end. I cut the old bolts off and slid in the new ones, its actually a pretty simple mod I will post up a couple pictures later I can't now being that I'm in English
