Hello all me and a buddy are doing a extreme budget build. And here is our custom stubby bumper with random steel laying around. And about a hour. Not a permanent thing but makes it look a little cooler in the mean time.

No, I don't lick fish.
Here's my stubby front. My bumper was a chrome bumper with the bumper guards on it. Sold the chrome one and took the mangled up black bumper from the parts Jeep I have... the center section was straight so I stubbied it right at the guards. Ended up lookin' pretty cool.

Sour jeep is funded by me and a friend. We bought it for car club which is held at my house once a week. We're all just kids. Going to school and working. But anyway all getting together wrenchi on something gets our brains going grows some fellowship and enjoying one another's company. So we're all out of my two car garage at this rental I'm in. We got some tools quite a few for age a welder a old touch and a grind what else ya need right? A tubing bendier I know I want one I'm saving. But anyway this is our prodject car we all work on and wheel so our DD's stay off the trails. I so we got the jeep out and tested used the front bumper last weekend trying to find a trail that was open and plan was to find a obstacle we couldn't do or didn't think we should try so we had a baseline in essence. Well road opened up but the trails hadent yet. So we drove every dirt road we could and so on did some exploring and flexed on all the rocks they put in the parking lot so you don't drive over the, . Anyway open diffs are kind of funny but had a good time then car club got all matching hats. The motor
In this has a cracked block. Still runs Barly but my pops is donating a 305 out of his 83 Chevy when he was our age been in a garage for 30 years but on 30k on it so gona look into it and put that in there hence the Chevy hats. (There were no jeep ones) and Chevy is awesome too. So here are some pics of it plans for a chop top roll cage and other things.
Started out small.

This is the eventual plans for mine...
I had pics of another 2d chop somewhere, but I can't find it now.

Planning on a chop top on my parts jeep, if i screw up oh well i can scrap it and i still had fun, im doing a sunroof in my zj after i get some practice with the installation process. thinking one of the larger sunroofs from the minivans so it extends to the back seats sort of like a wrangler without a top and the glass will slide to the back hatch and of course with the electric motor and water lines and everything. just need to head to the ole junkyard.

My version of homebrewed SBQDs. The lower perches are leftover from the Rusty's QD kit I put on my '89. Rod ends purchased online, various hardware from ACE, I welded together the upper brackets from some angle iron. Into it about $65. They adjust from 4 3/8" to 5 3/8" center to center. Useful for my 2.5" lift.

I'm happy with how they turned out, but I'll have to wait several weeks to use them, the temps are forcing me southwest for a month of so
Of course, if I decide to keep this one past the spring I'll need new lower control arms now that the sway bar no longer hinders articulation...

Thanks. These are on my '96 that has maybe 2.5" of lift. They may look shorter in the photos, I've got about 5" center to center, plus the upper bracket adds about an inch. The sway bar end is definately above horizontal. Perhaps they could be raised a bit, but not by much.

Nice design! Those are pretty short man for a lifted Jeep though, man. You need to extend the links. End of the bars should be stickin' up above the frame rail...

Lol.... The tire is blocking the rest of the coil. Besides, you can't go by that anyway. Spring rate, ride stiffness, and lift height determine how many windings there are on coils.
