This is mine, the bumper is made from 2x4 box steel with sheet steel gussets and end caps. I put the hinge on the passenger side so that I could open the tire swing away from traffic. The hinge I made puts the swing in double shear with ¼” plates, a 1 inch bolt through DOM tubing and oil impregnated brass bushings so I shouldn’t have issues with it breaking like all the guys that use trailer spindles in single shear. In the event that it were to fail I have a ¾” hitch pin closure on the other side that should at least keep it attached. The hard mount on the hitch pin side is a 1/2” pin that runs through the 2x4 bumper section and is welded at both ends. The pin mates with a bracket on the tire swing with a ½” hole. This keeps it centered and doesn’t allow for any movement when closed. I have jacked the jeep from both the bumper and the tire swing with no movement of either. I cut the end of the frame out and ran 2x4 box steel in as far as I could. I drilled a hole in each to allow for the shackle bolt to pass throug instead of slotting the entire box as some have done. These are attached with 8 grade eight bolts per side (4 to the stock mounting holes and 4 underneath). The clevis tabs are a full inch thick and also run through the 2x4 and are welded at both ends. The clevis tabs are located at the frame tie-ins and are welded to those too.

Here you go:
A couple shots of the hinge.
A couple shots of the closure.
And one more of the whole bumper.
Anything else in particular you wanted to see? I do plan on relocating the license plate. Fortunately I haven't been pulled over yet. Also I'm sure you noticed it's still in primer. I plan to make a mount for a couple jerry cans and my hi-lift. I'll probably add some back up lights to the tire swing portion too. Once i have it the way I want it I'll finish it with line-x.

Still want to make the taillight gap fillers, and fill the blank space when you open the hatch so I don't drop stuff. Made it this week, first bumper I made.
Its 3/16 2x4 box tubing, angled sides with unibody rail supports and cut and fold protection.

Made this one this weekend. Its out of 3\16 plate. Mounts are out of 1\4 with 7 mounting points on either side and with plates on the insides of the rails. Not to sure if ill keep the tow hooks on it of chop them off and put d ring mounts on. But they was laying around the garage so i figured what the heck.
