Default Herculiner interior floors

Hey Im doing a write up on my step by step process of herculining my floors. Im doing this because of a leak from an unknown place in my firewall and my carpets are soaked so Im trashing the mold and mildewed mess and herculining.
I took out the seats and ripped out the carpet today. here are some pics

Sorry for the crappy pictures but all I had was a video camera and it was zoomed out all the way and I still couldnt get inside the vehicle very well and have decent pictures. Im getting the herculiner tomorrow from Autozone. Luckily there was no rust in my floor pan when I pulled the wet carpet out.

I drove around in it to run some errands as this is my DD and the noise that people complain about isnt bad at all. The only noise I hear different from when I had the carpets in was the noise from the tranny and some fans. Nothing horrible. But the floor around and on the shifter area was hot after driving for about 10 minutes. I'll throw down some heavy duty rubber mats when I'm done and that shouldnt be a problem for feet. I never drive barefoot anyways. Mainly boots and tennis shoes. The girlfriend does though so we'll see how she feels about it lol

the leak is probably coming from your heater box, look where it goes into the firewall. good luck.

ps. Mine is rhinoed and the passenger rear floor gets fairly hot.

yeah youll probably have to get some sheet-metal or do what one member did on here and buy a new floor pan, cut it into sections, and weld it over your old one. He did a good job on his. Ill post more pics when I get some more done on it. Ill probably start today hopefully. If the rain holds back

I need to see about that. I thought I pretty much checked everything. The leak seems to drip off of the fuse box and then it hit that rubber pad and ran down underneath the carpet. I could tell it had been there before because someone who owned it before me punched two holes in the floor with a screwdriver to let the water out (which also let it in. smart of them huh?) It was only wet on the driver side. But had been there long enough to get soaked.

I've been driving around with the carpets out since its my DD and I havent noticed a lot of heat. But it is getting colder here in Georgia. And the noise isnt that much worse.

Default Update

I got some better pictures. This is my floor pan after I cleaned it with greased lighting then with Xylol as the packaging of herculiner said.

Remember if you want access to drain plugs remove them first before applying herculiner. I only need one for access.

I had a little rust on the driver side floor pan where most of the water was from the leak.

I got some heavy duty floor mats to put down over the herculined floor. THEY ARE HEAVY! No Joke stuff here

I decided to change the lift supports while I was in the "working" mood so I could get in the back without having to hold the door up.

Yours is a lot more in depth. I figured there are so many write ups I didnt need to go that in depth. I did take out my seat belts and dampening material... I should have taken out all of the drain plugs not just the one on each side that I did =/ oh well live and learn lol good write up though

Line-x and Rhino-Liner were just too expensive for me. I dont have an inside guy like some people to get it done cheap. I'm only 18 so I dont have a good budget lol but I bet it would look and be a whole lot nicer.
