Default Front Bumper Build

I know, my sliders still need to be finished, but oh well. Ordered mounts from AJs right after Christmas, did the base part of the bumper this weekend.

Mounts and 2x2 are all 1/4" steel. Waiting on 1.75"x.120 HREW to get here for the sides. Gonna get d ring tabs from A to Z again and the stinger from Jeeptubes. Also gonna change the paint, I wanted something on it to keep it from rusting and figured the green would be cool for a bit til I finished the bumper.

If anyone's curious, it's 32 and 3/4" between the outside of the frame rails.

Yeah, definitely worth $70 to not have to screw with cutting and drilling 1/4" plate. They do use 6. Drives side uses the 3 original and the 3 17mm from the steering box. Pass side uses the 3 original and you have to drill the other 3.

You could beef it up and add some 1/4" angle for the front 3 on the crossmember. I probably wont drill the other 3, I'll likely end up welding some around the edges and inside the bolt holes.

It's not done at all, that's just the base of it. I've got round tube on order for the rest.

Also ordered a winch plate, d-ring tabs, d-rings (1/2"), and spiked billet tube inserts to cap the ends from Ballistic fab the other night. Should be some updates to this in a week or so.

Accidentally ordered the wrong size for the spiked ends, but the tube for the sides isn't here yet anyway so re-ordering isn't a big deal. The skull cutouts are for the rear bumper, so disregard those.

Got some more done today. Gonna go back and 45 round tube from the top square to the bottom of the winch plate front and back to the bottom of the winch plate. It's welded on the bottom side, not just the top 2 visible welds, but I'll feel better with it being attached to more than just 2" of tube.

I'd also have gone with 3/4 shackles in hindsight and done them on the bottom, but oh well. Also right now it's only held on by 9 stock bolts. Going to weld 1/4" angle iron to the crossmember to strengthen the front 6 stock bolts and replace them with grade 8 hardware.

Whew... so glad you painted it black haha. Looks good, the stinger should add a good style to it.

Your setup looks nice. It seems to be fairly simple kinda like mine. Gotta love that Harbor Freight winch channel.
