It sounds like you might just want to have a compitent cage builder do it for you. This is your life you are talking about, and the life of others that may be in the jeep with you durring a roll over.

x2 you dont really want you own design that hasnt been tested, have someone that knows what the capablitys of their cages can do.

Here's a picture I drew up of how I want mine to look.. I'd also like to tie the front and back ends of the cage into new bumpers. Any thoughts on it???

Yea I finally talked myself outta the whole removable thing... It is too risky to even consider it... I'm looking into some ideas for the internal/external combo cage now

well I thought I did but my fuel injector went out but i got the fuel injector in earlier today but my battery is dead and I'm out in irrigon visiting family right now, I didn't get time to try and start it yet... but when I get home later tonight I see if I can get it going...
But I'm already ahead of you on this one and so is the rest of my family they are always telling me to "get it running before you even think about doing anything to it..." LOL
but its a work in progress... but even when I do get it going it will still need alot of TLC... The PO had it all torn apart... basically its just a bunch of unconnected wires...

Cherokee 4.0- I dont think I need any parts, its really just trying to figure out what wires are useless and what wires actually go to something and then replacing them
Huntingman2706217- Yes I do love using "but" cuz I see it as a way to always give myself something to look forward to.... Ex: before i replaced the fuel injector I didn't know why my xj would run for about ten minutes then die BUT when I broke down in the wally world parking lot I finally figure out it was the fuel injector

dang... that makes me wanna forget about getting it running and just build the cage now.. but can't do that...
But kinda off topic... I have some good news and some bad news... the good news is I got my XJ running, all it needed was a new TBI injector but the bad news is the female piece where the return line for the fuel attaches in the throttle body assembly snapped in half and broke in the threads so now I have to get a whole new assembly...

OK i didn't have to get a new assembly I just had to drill a lil bigger hole and then used some silicone and some seal all and it is on there and working fine... just the male female connectione wobbles a lil but ill just have to check that when i turn off the engine everytime

i hope the seal all works with fuel all over it... and hope it doesnt wall out and drop into the motor if it doesnt... could be ugly... i would still keep an eye out for a deal on another one...
