I think the wave in the flares is self inflicted. My passenger side looks fine. My drivers side has a little wave like you are talking about. I had to pull up pretty hard on the drivers side flare to get my holes to line up and it looks like the tension is causing the wave.If it starts bothering me I will just redrill. Don't know how soon I will get to the rear, trying to get our house ready to sell, taking all my time.

Do you think there is enough room to fit a 33x10.50 tire with the same amount of lift? I really like the look of the factory flares and would hate to have to cut them off

I'm not sure. I used to have 32 x 11.50, I couldn't turn tight otherwise they would rub...I'm sure they would fit, but you wouldn't have much clearance, especially for wheeling. If you cut the fenders and flares, you would have plenty of room. I too like the look of factory flares, that's why I didn't do too much to them....at a glance they look stock.

I used 3M double sided tape when I installed my TJ flares a few years ago (cut-n-fold method). Screws might take longer. I have a write-up on Jeep Forum, but for TJ flares.

I'm a bit cranky right now (I'm at work) and I started reading this thread with an attitude, determined to dislike the results of this mod. I'm a die-hard TJ flare believer. But I'll grudgingly admit that the OP's turned out well. I couldn't figure out what had been done, then when it was cleared up, I thought ... yeah so what? That's easy for a budget boost, not a "real lift". I was wrong. Well done.

Edit: And she's a girl too ... woohoo! Go girl!

Yep the girl did good. She has another write up for the rear with alot of pics. It is what I used and the extra clearance you get both front and rear is amazing. The fact that you have to look to see the mod makes it even better to me. Don't be so hasty to dislike something.https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/cu...flares-60530/l.

I know this is an old thread but had to say great idea. I've been lurking here for months and one of the reasons I signed up was so I could reply to you and say thanks for the idea. I like the stock look but with more room. Once I'm a bit more familiar with the forum I'll post up my experience as I took a fair amount of pics. Thanks again.

Here's a few pics. I have better close ups but they don't want to load.

Thanks! I did em over 3 days. I'm just a shade tree mechanic so I take my time so I don't screw anything up too bad as it's my DD. I've been playing with a photo resizer and have some more pics posted below. As soon as I can resize all of them I will do a write up.
