Did you take pictures along the way? This would be a SWEET write up to show everyone how you did it. Or, just keep the thread going with the write up. I run about the same lift and wheel/tire size set up.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I didn't think about taking pictures during the process.
Well, the only thing that I do not like about them being cut is, there is no strength in the fender flare now, so it has this wave/ripple to it. But the function is great....so it's ok I guess. I was going to do the back as well, but (2 things) the tires didn't rub as much as the front and I don't think it would've come out as clean as the front. I wouldn't have been able to cut as much body off the back because of the pinch welds....it just wouldn't have looked right, so I left it.
But if you decide to do it, good luck and post some pics.
And I used a jigsaw, when cutting the fender flare, if you don't pull the cut peice away from the flare, it'll melt to it, then you'll have a big glob that you'll have to trim with a razor blade.

Yeah, very nice job...too bad about the pics along the way. Oh well on that. One thing to think about though..them ol' XJ's are known to have rusted out door hinges. Might wanna think about covering that gap in the rear part of the front fenders back up so water and mud can't get in the front part of your door jams. Just a thought, anything we can do for longevity!

Well I fanally got around to this today, don't have a camera so sorry no pics. Only did the left front, will do the right saturday. Pretty easy and looks good to. You can't believe the extra room it gives you until you see it in person. Steady hands and good eyes help, I don't have either and I managed to pull this off. The hardest part for me was drilling the holes in the fender in the correct spot. When my wife got home I had her walk around the jeep and it took her awhile to notice it. Great mod thanks jsteinb95

I have not had time to try the rear yet. from looking at it I would just do the cut and fold method then cut the mounting flange on the flair and install it with self tapping screws or maybe even double sided tape. Will let you know when I try it.

I'm glad I have inspired some of you to do this mod. muffinman, do your flares have a wave to them? If/when you do the back, let us know....I would like to mod the back.
Jeez, I don't really remember. I bought the rims from summit racing, I think they were around $450-$500 (including shipping). I'm not sure about the tires, I had my husband buy them and put them on while I was at work....I'm thinking around $500-$550....I know they weren't more than $600.
