So here's my overhead build. What do you think?

I used an orbital sander to Shave down the corners for smooth lines.

I think it is awesome! I have wanted to do something in the same vein using a factory console. I found an older one in a junkyard but want something to fit the comparatively new interior of my 98. how does your attach? same as the OP?

Default Mounting console

Thanks :-). I attached a crossbar that mints the front to the visor clips and ran long steel pieces back that slide over the roof support crossbar just behind the stock overhead light.
To remove, I merely unbolt the visor clips and slide the whole console forward.
Most of this should be visible in the pix.
Good luck! I'd love to see what you come up with.
