There's a crossmember I made that the visor retainer clip screws go through and it slides on top of the metal tabs that are above the dome light. With everything screwed in tight it doesn't budge at all.

I managed to find some grey vinyl at the fabric store that matches the dash color good enough. I've got glue drying on it right now. Should have some pictures up tomorrow. Still trying to figure out how to do the face plate but so far I have a cardboard template made that shows the bends and cutouts of the units. The plan so far is to replicate it in sheet metal and then glue a black or grey rubber matt over it.

Well the consoles that they did come out with wouldn't have really worked for what I wanted. The glue is almost dried enough to mount it back up and see how it looks. Tomorrow I'll try to get the materials for the face plate.

Got the vinyl on. Need to loosen it in spots and smooth the vinyl out but it matches the color nicely. You can kind of see the interior trim's color in the background.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I might not have a face plate update for a while as I have more urgent projects calling my name right now, but I'll update when there's notable progress.

Good work, man. It looks pretty good. How are the blind spots with it in there? Or does it not affect your sight ability?

I'm 5'10" and it doesn't affect my view out the windshield except for a little above the rearview. I do have to lower my mirror about an inch however to get a full view out the back

For future searchers, here's a link to one DJKnightmare made which is superior to the one I built.

^^^ Thanks for the ego boost. BUT I am actually going to steal part of your design for my build!

I don't like the way mine is attached at the front, so I am going to get a piece of metal just like yours in the front and attach it with the sun visors. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to do it and make it look good, and your idea with the visors was brilliant....because it was simple! Simple+Works= SWEET!
