I must have a lucky j
Xj 4.56s, 33s, cowl snorkel, 5.5 lift an injectors an i can run 85 90 with no vibes or anything but normal driving with doin that i get around 15 mpg

so at the front of my box is a ribbed hose and I followed it to the source and it leads to the header?? WTF anyone have this problem, Ive looked up videos and haven't found much off what im looking for, any help would be awesome!

Do you have a pic of this? It sounds like an old style pre heater duct they used on carb vehicles

so heres three images you can see it runs from the front of the air bod down the left side (if your looking at the rear of the vehicle) then under to the header and I looks attached, its the best picture I have. and its not carbed. my only concern is if I took it off wouldn't that leave a hole or gap in the header?

What's the year of your vehicle? And you can disconnect it and see if there's a hole under it but it looks like it's just a bracket that wraps around the header to pull heat off of it

no suggestions for a diy cowl? man.. thats the way id do it, maybe minus the plastic/pvc as it conducts rather than dissipates heat..

1987 base model xj, i6 fuel injected
