So you can make these things when you're not at work now. Cool beans! Does that speed up your prototyping at all for the driver's side box? Seriously, I'm pretty eager to find a solution for that side.
Btw, my box is holding up great. A few more scratches and the occasional coating of sand, but everyone that has seen it has been impressed. A few jeep and non-jeep owners have asked about where to buy one.

Once I get caught up on things I'll get a driver side box together. (I'll post up here) I do plan to make a few driver side rack / mount things.

Just got mine yesterday and it is a very well built piece of kit, I'm impressed!
I was very keen to get it installed but hesitated as it seemed when I had it in the best position for the opening in the back to match up with the cubby hole the lid would be blocked by the seat so I would have to unlatch the seat to open & close it, is that expected? Looking at some of the other pics on here it looks like they are in the same position but I thought I'd confirm before committing & drilling the holes.
This is a 2001 XJ is it matters, not sure if the dimensions back there changed between years or not.

Piece of kit, heh.
But no... this should open freely. Pull the box tight to the rear of the cubby area.
If you want to PM me, I'll give you my home Phone and I can probably help a little better.

I'll take another look at it when I get home in the daylight and hopefully without the mosquitoes attacking me I can work it out but last night I found if I moved it all the way back the cutout didn't line up with the cubby hole and that was bugging my perfectionist self plus left a gap between the wheel well and the angle at the bottom. I may have just been grumpy due to FedEx delivering so late.

Ok let me know. It should sit snug against the rear of the cargo trim. The lid should be level to the window. Also the lid should have roughly 1/4 to 1/2 inch of clearance to the seat.
