Default Broke my stock rear yoke

So I was out wheeling the other night and I broke my yoke in the rear. I snapped 2 bolts off of one of the u-joint clamps ( which I couldnt remove with a drill and I broke the stud removal tool) Anyone else done this and had to fab up there own fix? It also broke one of the tabs that holds the cap on the U-joint off, any help or idea's are appreciated!

Its time for a new yoke. Unless its a Dana 35, in which case you might as well find a Chrysler 8.25 and just go. for a swap. If you have access to a welder you could weld and make a new tab, but since you can't drill the bolts out I'd go for the new yoke/axel

Dana 35s are poop! You can always just put a new yoke on but like ZachsXJ said you prob should go for a swap. If you are wheeling to the point of braking just up grade. If you do just replace it try and get a 1350 yoke. Sooo much stronger then the 1310.

U-BOLT conversion for the D35 try this works great.

This better explains it. Rear yoke u-bolt conversion we both did this and you wont believe the strength it has.

im glad i dont have this problem anymore... mine was not because it was a dana 35.. it was leaf springs..

Axle wrap causes the u joint to snap the ear off the Pinion yoke that holds the cap in place, then a cap flys off, and the u-joint takes out the straps and bolts.

Thats what a half-as$ed bastard pack will do, I just ordered some Rough country leaf packs and installed a dana 44 with new spicer joints.. $800 later i hope to never deal with this problem again.. (took 7 times before figuring out about axle wrap)

A new Pinion yoke will run you about $36
a set of Straps and bolts should be about $5
