Just bought the Redcat Everest and now I want something to rip around the trails and dunes. Had a Slash4x4, brushless with paddle tires, but it was too much maintenance and made too much heat.
Any suggestions? I like the rock racers.

The Wraith seems like the way to go. I like driving fast and hitting stuff..

No, I don't lick fish.
Honestly just depends on what you're desiring. The SCX10 series (Deadbolt) is basically a scale truck. Looks like a truck, has the same axle/wheel/tire proportions and even similar geometry as a 1:1 truck/jeep/suv/whatever... It's going to look like a small version of a larger vehicle.
The Wraith is basically a buggy. It has the same scale as a buggy, similar geometry to a buggy, similar COG to a buggy, and will perform offroad like a buggy. I'd like to have 'em BOTH.
Of course, I'd like to have the collection my Uncle USED to have - which was like 1 of everything. But I like having a savings account too.

As much as I would like to have the Wraith, I don't know if it is fast enough to climb these 15 - 20' sand bowls and dunes, and rip up and down the beach. Perhaps if converted to brushless? Will have to research that.
Looking at brushless Redcat Blackout Pro $200, or brushed Traxxes Bandit 2WD $180. And a set of paddle tires.
4WD is most effective but the extra drivetrain parts requires more maintenance (at least the Slash 4x4 did).

The yeti is too much coin for me. I did have a Slash 4x4 brushless, 3s Lipo and four paddle tires. It was insane! But the sand was eating driveline parts and took too much time taking it apart and cleaning out after every session.
Traxxas Bandit sand rail is brushless and will do 70mph out of the box. With paddle tires and lower gear it should be great. And the drivetrain is much more simple and easier to maintain. Has a traction management system that reduces or eliminates fishtailing and such, common issues with powerful 2WD vehicles. https://traxxas.com/products/models/...bandit-vxl-tsm
So it's either the Bandit or the Wraith Spawn. I think I could have fun in desert terrain with the Wraith, and it could work better than expected due to the big tires and torque, and seems to be durable.
The issue with sand should be lessened with the slower speeds of the Wraith. The Slash 4x4 sprayed sand everywhere and will sandblast you if get too close. The body style directed sand into chassis too.
Have a 1/10 Redcat Everest being delivered tomorrow as a kindergarten graduation gift for my six year old.

Wraith Rock Racer
Took me all day to figure it out. Purchased the Wraith Rock Racer. My little boy is going to be upset when I do donuts around his Redcat Everest and then drive over it.
