Are these safe?
This has nothing to do with Jeeps or anything off road, but I know there are some knowledgeable people on here so give me some input. I want to put a certain set of wheels on my 96 civic, but the lug pattern is different. I don't want to do a hub conversion, so what do you guys think of these spacers/converters?

My main concern would be safety. Anyone see any major flaws in that design?

I have a set of 5x4.5 lug patten spacers up forsale here.
Used them for a while to get a wider foot print on the trail.
The ONLY problem I have heard of is dealing with the lug studs stripping out of the aluminum when air guns are used on them.
I fixed that by installing longer studs on the axle and double nutting the spacer and tire...worked great.
My buddy is using the 5x4.5 to 5x5.5 for using CJ rims on his TJ. Again...works great.
But $180 seems semi high in price...then again, I've never bought them new.

He's looking at the fact that they go from a 4 bolt circle to a 5 bolt circle. I'd be kinda scetchy on that do to the off set lugs to do that.... I'd say no there not safe. And thats coming from a guy that use to be heavy into Imports(10 sec. Celica GT)

I know the BEST and SAFEST alternatives are a Type R 5 lug conversion, but its pricey, very pricey. Like, as much as the car is worth. LOL

Years ago I used a set something like that on my '69 vw bug to go from 4 lug to 5 lug chevrolet and never had a problem. At the time I was 16 or 17 years old and was extremely hard on them. That was 30 years ago and they were not billet, just cast alum.
