Fun little car, but the 1.8t motor does not have a good rep.
My dad runs a European car service department down in NC, mostly VWs Audis, BMWs, Benz and Porshces, and he said the most common car in his shop are VWs and Audis with those 1.8s, even newer/low mileage ones...
