why are you going SUA instead of SOA?? Seems like a waste with all the work you are doing.
A flatter spring to keep the same ride height will flex and ride alot better

this setup will get us in our target ride height area, and still have decent travel.
also, when this springs have weight on them they flatten out a good bit. the pictures show the spring at full droop. and a SOA with these springs and axles would end up having around atleast 6 more inches of lift than what we would end up with now.
but, when it all comes down to it. these are the springs the customer wants. and that precedes all of our thoughts

[QUOTE=N20jeep;1068875]the SOA's have there own problems that would need to be addresed.
X2
SOA's cause a lotta problems, especially on a rig like this. With such horsepower, there'd be a lot of axle wrap. They'd be going through leaves like crazy.
This is an awesome build though, thanks for sharing!

some updates
i regeared the d60 and d70 and put detroits in them.
the d60
the d70
and for fun...a D70 next to a d35
also made some spring plats for the rear, still trying to think of something creative to do to the front.
and we set the body ontop of the frame, to get ready to start mocking up the drivetrain. didnt get any pics of that yet though.

Progress:
the body is kind of mocked into place and the motor and tranny are mounted up and the frame side motor mounts are welded in
oh, and all the spring perches are done and mounted up, just not welded yet until we set the pinion angle
