Yes, you would recognize them because that is a Volvo 1.6L. From your part of the world. Since I have your attention, we are going to rebuild it at some point since it is kind of worn and smokes. Any speed parts like a used super charger and such over there. Not much used stuff here for the little Volvo.

Engine should be a Volvo B16B,(1583cc) where the second B stands for bi-carburettor, dated around 1957/58 and the carburettors are not stromberg like i said before (sorry) but they are SU (Skinners Union).

You may want to have a look at the Volvo Amazon, Volvo PV444/544 forums (UK) that are the only vehicles that mounted this engine. There was also a small van that was called Volvo Duett (P210) with the single carburettor version.
Some rare applications also in marine, agricultural and industrial settings.
I doubt there has ever been any supercharger producer that made something specifically for this unit.

We think it does, but we have not tried it because it requires 24V. This was a common set up on early military surplus rigs that came standard with 24V. We only have one battery in it now and all the lights and stuff is converted to 12 volts. There was a bunch of gobblygook under the hood to take it to 24V that I have to confess I did not understand. I could have done it much simpler.

A little further progress last weekend. I was gone, but my son came down and pulled the gas tank due to a leak. Looks like Dad has some work to do. We also had a problem with a leaky water pump that leaked more than it pumped. He has a friend of his half brother that works in a rebuild shop. So instead of $100 for a new one, he got this one rebuilt for a six pack.

This is really awsome. It's always fun and very satisfying when you turn nothin into something. I like the Super Charger kit idea a lot. And would you try to lift it? I asume it's off road only. One last question that may have been aswered, is it a desiel?

No, it is a gasser. We are trying to find a used kit, but they seem to be rare. We found a vingage kit of another manufacturer and it was weak on the boost and required an oiler or it would grenade. I have a couple of Subaru turbos and we are leaning towards that option.
