so last week the g/f was driving through and intersection in my 99 xj and some genius decided to run a red light in a ford contour and sure enough the jeep won after t-boning and really adding a contour to the other car. luckily no one was hurt. the worst part was i had to hand off my jeep to the big junk yard in the sky. but the good news is they gave me 200 more than what i payed for it. im gonna miss my poor jeep. and in a pinch today i bought a an 03 jiberty. i didn't want to lose the jeep name but i needed something with a little better fuel milage, i'm hoping i will not get shunned from the group.

i think i speak for at least some of us when i say that we wont kick you out. a little ribbing will be in order, im sure, but congrats on your new purchase and I wish you good luck with it.

I was forced by my mom to give up my XJ for cash for clunkers so she could get a POS chevy cobalt, so I jacked the keys to her 07 liberty. No ribbing from me. They are much more capable and durable than people think. And I have a heavy *** foot both on road and off. If yours is an auto you should bet 2-4 mpg better than your xj. If it's the 5 or 6 speed, 6 to 7 mpg at least. Good move sticking with the Jeep name. Congrats on your new rig and good luck. And if it makes you feel any better my ex did the same with my XJ, but to a Datsun 260Z. He blew a light coming off a blind corner. She drove off, the datsun was bent at a 30* angle roughly. Heres some advice on how to handle the stupid people....
