New Year, New Fails!
First real Fail of 2011 comes to us from Tacomaworld.com, where a user decided to go against the grain, and make a $9 5" front lift for his Taco.

As usual with internet forums, epicness ensues.

the fact he altered the shock is sketchy
the fact there telling him he should never do any mod or fabing himself
that all suspension fab is totally out of the question
and just being complete ******** about it tells me they should all stay with there tacos and away from jeeps
i mean they act like he asked about a cherokee body lift or something
props to the guy for atleast given some fab a try even if it wasnt the brightest idea lol

Wow. That is the most awesome-tastic thread I've seen since the dude drilled through the ECU on his brand new GSXR trying to install a tidy-tail.
And I believe they were telling the OP that HE should never do his own mods because what he had done was so blisteringly ignorant and unsafe. They weren't making general statements.
There really isn't an equivalent possibility with the XJ unless you tried to make long-arm brackets out of gum and duct tape.
