Technically they already did.... The Liberty is badged as a Cherokee overseas. Yet another foul up by chrysler further desecrating the once renowned and respected JEEP name... Stupid little .... Opps forgot I can't say that here. The only jeep with a solid axel anymore is the darn wrangler. And within the next couple years they are doing away with the removable doors is my understanding. I vote bring back the REAL jeeps like the XJ or stop destroying the good jeep name and just slap a Chrysler bade on this imitation garbage.. Ok, rant switch OFF.

Yeah i actually remember seeing some pics awhile back of the overseas Cherokee. Pretty nice.
Wow their getting rid of removable doors? More and more they sink into "nonjeepness". I'm already disgusted with the recent Jeep cars as I enjoy calling them. IE: Compass, and patriot.

I'm pretty sure they are. I heard it from another forum member a while back in a doorless cherokee= unsafe vehicle ticket thread. I'll see if I can dig it up and find the exact info.

Wow, thats pretty lame.
About your ticket on the doors thing too, i've been reading alot lately on cops busting guys for pretty weird stuff lately though.
Oh, and dont forget chrysler is now partly owned by Fiat we'll have to see what happens with that now that we'll have Italian jeeps on our hands ha.
I also love the fact that Fiat's president made a rude comment about our "Inefficient American V8's".

But thats why we love them Our gas guzzling toxin spitting V8's would DESTROY those little under 1000 cc things. I'd put any Jeep I've driven up against those weed wacker motor packing tin cans. We'd knock em flat on thier can... Until we come to a turn, then it's gonna get interesting.

Don't hate on the KJ, I used to wheel with some cats that had KJs. Keeping in mind that they were both near stock (tires only), they could certainly hang with the rest of us.
If they weren't so much more expensive than an XJ, I'd certainly consider buying one.

Honestly I would rather wheel a subaru than a KJ... I don't like the style at all.. And as said before most people that drive them are women... Lets just bring back the XJ we all love

I don't like the shape of the first generation Liberty, way too bubbly for my tastes. The new ones look better, but still not really a fan of them.

I have 2 neighbors that own the first-gen Liberty, both are women. One of them used to have a red '97 Jeep Cherokee Sport. She now has a light blue 2006 Jeep Liberty. She told me she regrets trading in the Cherokee.

The new Liberty, the KK, is nothing more than a Dodge Nitro with a few cosmetic changes. Certain years of KJ Renegade models had flat top style grills. They looked a whole lot less "bubbly".

We have the water fording package on it and it works great. I was driving through a flood and drug my fingers through the water while I did it . It was about to the door handles. Still runs great and didnt leak a drop of water inside.
