KJ cut and fold integrity
Ok so I used to have a 96 XJ with trimmed fenders via the cut & fold method. Now that it is gone, and I finally have the funds to do some decent modifying, I am forced to modify my 07 KJ. Now I have a stock suspension, and plan on stuffing some 33's under it. I will be lifting and bump stopping, but the lift won't won't arrive until a week or 2 after the tires. Either way some trimming will need to take place to fit them without excess rubbing to the point of body damage. Now the rear lip if the XJ angled outward, while the KJ has almost a full inch lip angled 90* inward. Can I do the same cut & fold method up to the door line while still preserving structural integrity? They are both uni-body's, the spot welds will still remain, but I wanted to ask some of you guys with more sheet metal experience before I assume something and have it end up kicking myself in the.... .... well you get the idea.
