I don't put much faith into KBB. Too many variables that they can't take into account.

Agreed.

Market says how much something is worth.

Just because your house is evaluated and worth 400 000$ doesnt mean you're going to get 400 000$ sometimes. Granted 9 times out of 10 if it says 400k you'll get 500+ but that also proves a point doesnt it.

I just use it as a generalization of where to start with pricing.

I'd dump the Jeep in a second. The main issues with the 5.9 motors was the gasket sealing the bottom of the intake manifold. They tended to leak and the motors would suck oil. Took me about 2 hours to fix on my 2001. My 2001 D2500 with 4:10 gears and 5spd was close to as good a hauler as my old 97 V10 D3500.

The 2001 could easily average 17 mpg even with the 4:10's. What does your ZJ get with that lift & tires?

Dodge autotragics of that era can be a little frustrating at times, but if it is an auto and has had regular +4 fluid changes, it's most likely fine given the mileage already on it.

And look at it this way as well, if you want to get a different vehicle at some point, which is going to be easier to trade in or sell, a Jeep that people will question the build, (not that anything is wrong with it, but you know how people are) or a basically stock half-ton truck?

And for reference the NADA clean retail value for your Jeep is $2725. So you could probably get $3000 for it with all the stuff if you tried to sell it.

The clean retail for the Ram is $6150 without the Laramie package or leather seats. (And the Ram will be a heck of a lot more comfortable on the road.)

NO keep the jeep. I'm going to spin this another way. Its your girlfriends dad. If anything goes wrong with your jeep or his truck; How much BS will it create between you and the GF. Just a thought.

i would have done it in a heartbeat. then sell the truck and build a better zj. zjs are cheap, at least around colorado, and you could have dumped all the extra cash into a better built zj than you have. i like your zj, but im a horse trading ****!!

Sound like my friend who originally had the jeep, he went through about 15 vehicles before we were out of high school. I'd like to trade it up for something, but my girlfriend is pretty attached to the Jeep.
I did see a long bed 1500 dodge yesterday and it made me start to reconsider the trade, idk we'll see come springtime

I think you can use a 20% off cupon as well.

Notice how in the pic of the trailer, its being pulled by a xj =D

Those trucks are dogs. If it had a cummins then the trade could be debatable. But those motors and trannys are POS's
