Default Isuzu Riding Rough (HELP!?!)

Buddy washed the engine on his Rodeo (e.g., Gunk and hose) and now it "misses" under acceleration but idles fine. I haven't heard the engine run to describe it myself, but the way he is describing it, he may have water in his fuel (I think). My recommendation is just a solid seafoam job (in fuel and through the brake booster hose). What else should I consider/do?

My novice logic of engine operation:
Air: seems ok...maybe check the air filter.
Fire: Seems to be getting spark ok, but maybe water got on a connection. I don't know this engine well enough to have any idea what areas are most sensitive.
Fuel: Seafoam to get water out of the fuel.

Here is a google image photo of the engine in question. Thanks for any advice,
s

Give it time and let everything dry out. He may have gotten water in his ignition or other electronics. Letting it sit and dry out is your first step. Then go from there. Seafoam is not your best bet to get water out of the fuel. (however, this is not what I think your problem is) Just get some heet or other fuel additive that removes moisture, if you think that is the problem, but I don't think hosing the engine compartment would get water in the fuel. It is most likely electrical.

Well, he tried the Heet. We'll see if it improves in the near future. What about the electrical connectors? Where should he start spraying the WD40? His vehicle will idle fine and increased throttle (up to 4k RPMs) while in park show no stutter or hesitation, but when he starts driving it, however, he said it really bogs down. Where do I go from here?

Thanks,
s

Quite perceptive Tater. Although there is no Distributor we pulled his plugs and the 2 rear plugs had a bit of water in them. Wit hthat blown out, the car runs like a champ again. Now I'll be the first to tell you that I know squat about electric systems but I just don't see how it didn't act up when revved to 4k in park, but would then bog down when at any rpm over idle but in gear.

I just don't get it,
