Any of you guys know anything about Ford Explorers? I had one a while back that ran great but it ran into a few little problems but most likely because i kind of ran it into the ground.

The 5.0's are great motors so i would check mostly suspension components. Ball joints go the most so check those. Also the transmission i would drive for a little and see if it slips because those are the worst after 100,000 for some reason(if its automatic). Also check wheel bearings. I did these repairs numerous times on the same parts they just go for some reason. Thats all i can really think of now but mine held up to 269,000 so they are decent. Hope this helps ya a little!

My dad has a 1998 with the SOHC 4.0, has plenty of miles on it.
He just did the bearings in the rear end, but everything else was good.
I actually just called him, asked what he thought would be good points to check. He suggested looking at the corners of all doors for rust, as well as around the rear bumper.

I like this vehicle. Once test drive a 2007 Explorer in Michigan, fresh out of the works.
Too bad its not selling in the Philippines. It's a crime.
