Bought wife a 99 Blazer
Found a 99 Blazer on one of the Facebook classified pages. Drove it home for $450 needing a transmission and transfer case. 3rd/4th clutch pack is burnt up so drove it home in 2nd gear. Transfer case is actually good, but he put a np233 in where a np236 is supposed to be, so nothing will plug in. Body and interior are nearly mint.
Couple days later a friend of mine calls me and says he just bought a 99 Blazer that runs and drives that he will sell me for $600 without wheels. Body is fairly rough on this one but I put the wheels off the first one on it and drove it home after giving him $500.
Going to be parting the second one out after I swap the transmission and transfer case into the first one. Will be using the leaf springs to build a bastard pack for the XJ and MIGHT make an attempt at swapping the leather seats into it as well since the wife doesn't want the leather in her Blazer.
Best part about it is I know a couple car dealers that will give $450 for just the motor out of the second one so right off the bat I'll only be $500 into a nice 99 Blazer with all kinds of options. Figure a couple hundred for all new fluids and a full tuneup. I'm not complaining, heck the A/C even blows ice cold on the first one.
