Yea I like the way they look, just an update, i finally got above the 15 mph mark cause i fixed the timing issue and ran it up the road bout 1/2 to 3/4 throttle to about 45-50 mph and the bumping smoothed out its only that 10 to 20 mph range which makes alot of sense. Might leave them on there and say what the hell and see if it passes inspection haha

Ordered a new rear driveshaft today from Tom Woods
I purchased a 3.5" diameter shaft with slip
I also purchased from them a new yoke at the transfer case to convert the 1310 series u joint to match the 1350 series at the axle hope this was worth the extra money lol It makes alot of sense drive shaft is only as strong as the weakest link which in my case would be the 1310 series ujoint. also the ive heard that the weak point is at the straps that install on the axle side yoke. I got new ones but short of replacing that with a u-bolt style im tempted to look into drilling out the threads on that side and replacing the straps with u bolts but idk if this has been done or not. I will prolly go with what I have till it breaks lol then look at options then
oh well 418 bucks later Ill get rid of the vibrations the worn out spline caused at 40 mph and will have a little bit stronger set up there...

Working on getting stuff together for some tunes in the truck....
Bought:
Pioneer 10" 1200w shallow mount sub today
4 gage amp wiring kit
dash install kit for 73-87 trucks
TO BUY:
pioneer 900w amp
6x9 speakers
Single din radio
TO MAKE:
Going to make a custom box....
Going to have a mount for single 10" sub 2 6x9 speakers and possibly room for the amp or might put it under the seat idk yet also might make room for 4 3-1/2" speakers on top to project highs towards the roof and not towards the seat like the 10 and 6x9 will be facing
I have designed the speaker box in CAD

plan on using 3M 5200 marine grade stuff to seal it off and using mdf boards and possibly maybe fiberglassing around mdf to provide a different texture than carpet and more waterproof than carpet, second option would be painting with truck bedliner, last would be carpet I have the fiberglass so might try that first and paint it a unique color.
what yall think??

New drive shaft and rear transfer case yoke, didnt have much trouble putting the yoke just had to find a 1-5/16" socket that would fit and not be too thick to fit in the yoke. I found on another forumn that the duralast brand socket found at autozone (PN 75-960) would work and it did! no problems at all just had to buy the adapter from 3/4" drive to 1/2" drive for my situation. worked nice.

I have gotten the truck inspected and registered here in texas so its up and on the road! I had to rig the e-brake stuff but it worked and its gtg. I have since gotten the exhaust all welded up and it sounds much better now.
my timing was still way off and I was prolly losing alot of hp...it was causing pinging or knocking I was way to far advanced, I retarded the timing alot from the last post and the motor has really woke up. I still need to fix the front driveshaft to get it beach ready
but other than that ive been driving it back and forth to work everyday and I changed the oil for the first time sunday night.
I need to get this thing on the beach soon so I can post some more pics and videos of it!!!

I purchased two used front driveshafts they both need work but think i make something out of the 2 of them work for my truck, they have the double cardone joint (one i bought with with truck did not). Plan is to go back home and install one of them this weekend make sure they will work. then i will take them into the shop and get new ujoints put in and whatever else needs to be done. I plan on having a working front driveshaft for the beach on memorial day weekend and having some fun out there.
It will be the first time for the truck to be on the beach since prolly jan 2014. first time with the lift and motor and all that stuff. took it there stock but not since. im pretty excited.
I did purchase a throttle return bracket that will change the spring from the rear mount to a front mount. Plan on putting this in this weekend as well.
other than that hopefully get some pics up like i said maybe a video or 2 as well.

For timing to be set correct exact year of motor needs to be found out. Thru the years the a 12 degree variable all will run but big difference when its dead on. Also ground hags get flat spots over the weekend. After getting some heat on them should be good.

Good info thanks alot freegdr! Yea i think there might be some permanent damage to the hawgs cause they set on concrete on the truck for 6+ months cause of how long it took me to get it going. but it is tolerable in my opinion i mean to most people they would prolly say no way but im still young enough where its tolerable lol.

I have the driveshaft in the shop since monday. they are putting new u-joints in it and are also rebuilding the ball and socket part they said it wouldnt take long so i hope they give me a call soon so i can get it in for this weekend. they are also shaving a little bit all around so i can get the angle i need. gonna cost me about 150 for all this.... looking up parts i figure it to be about 90 bucks my cost im sure they get a little better deal but oh well i sure didnt want to mess with it.

believe it or not took 20 bucks in quarters at the carwash haha and hrs using the hose to completely get it all off. still have to go back and wash one more time lol. I went through some pretty deep mud holes had clauds of mud flying 30 feet straight up in the air it was fun. and the motor did really well plenty of power, i was more worried about breaking a ujoint haha

Managed to get the throttle return spring kit on works very nice i used the light springs that were supplied and it is like night and day difference on throttle response, pedal stiffness and sticking. I like the front setup glad i bought it makes the truck more enjoyable to drive
