1981 Honda C70 Deluxe Passport (Barn Find)
So I met my wife a long time ago and she was from Ohio, I was living in Philadelphia. Her grandparents have a barn in their backyard, and she had some of her stuff stored in it. The first time I opened the barn doors I saw a set of handle bars. When I asked about it, her grandfather told me he was the second owner of the Passport, and that he loved riding it around when he was younger. I offered to buy it from him for years. Eventually he passed, and my wifes grandmother sold it to me. Since I first saw it, until I actually got it, it was 7 years.
This was what I uncovered after an hour of digging! Total time was 1 hour 45 minutes to get it out of the garage.

The plastics are sunfaded, so I have to buy new ones to match the factory paint, but this is as she stands today. Well maybe...it's nice out, so I think I'll go out and work on her some more.

Actually I sanded and primed the areas that I painted, but didn't take pics of it....thought it was the most boring thing in the world.....I hate sanding!

Cool! Brings back memories. I used to have a red one back before I was old enough to drive. I used to drive it everywhere. The electric ignition was broken so I just kick started it all the time. 3 speed if I remember correctly. Top speed of between 45 and 50. Lots of fun though. Thanks for posting!

Thatnks guys! So far it was running OK, but had some issues, so I replaced the cylinder and piston with a "big bore" kit. Took it from 72 cc's all the way up to 80 cc's, which is small, but a big change, plus added another 1.5 HP. That's a lot for such a small machine, and seeing as how I live IN a city, most of my driving is from 0-40 mph, which this little guy does with ease (and approaching 100 mpg!).
