(My spare rim is a Cragar d window rim with 3.75 back spacing) so depending on what rim you are using, u may need shorter or longer threaded rod. Maybe u won't even need it at all and do a custom set up.
Elsewhere in this thread, you said the metal bracket (that the factory spare rests on) wasn't in your way. Does your spare sit on top of this or next to it? I tried mine on top and it hit the speaker on the ceiling. Do you have any pics of your spare installed?

Before I had my rear tire carrier bumper, I had a tire relocation bracket used along with removing the metal base piece. It was made by my friend and used the stock J-bolt to keep the tie mounted.
Yes, I have a 96-down, however it should basically work the same. No rear seat mod required.

the spare tire sits next to it. I should remove it but it wouldn't make any difference because the rear wheel hump still would be in the way too.

Reminds me of this: gojeep fitting a 32 spare wheel in stock location. I should have done this on my XJ, rather than flat on the floor.

I finally fitted my spare. Got tired of it taking up floor space.

I need to trim the threaded rod down a bit and make a better spacer than that little 2x.

You can get 33s in there too, if you don't mind the bottom of the tire sticking out a little. Leave the OEM tire rest for an ammo can of tools and you're good to go.
