Alright... So I know this is a bit off topic, but I can't find another good thread to ask this question in, and you guys are all knowledgeable about audio, so I figured I could get help here.

I've got a Brandsmart gift card ans was looking at some new speakers, as I just got a new Pioneer head unit, and I also have a Pioneer sub and Lanzar amp I plan to put in... No sense having these things with the crummy stock speakers.

Now, I was actually looking at component speakers for the front...
These ones, because they're in my price range?

Would they be any more difficult to install than regular old speakers?

As for the rear, I was looking at these...

Any problems I might run into?

I run a sealed 10" with built in amp. Rockford Fosgate.
No exposed wires, espicially in engine bay.
Wired to turn on with radio.
Used to run a 10" Bazooka which is ported.
The Fosgate sounds 'tighter'. Less 'boomy'. Still dialing it in.

If you want to run the 6.5" in the stock locations, which are 5.25", youll have to cut a little out. If you google it theres a ton of more in depth info, but to be honest, half decent 5.25"'s will sound exactly the same as mediocre 6.5".

I run no component speakers, all 6x9's. Have plans to drill out holes for some 5.25's in all the doors, ran into some new free ones from a family member

I read that 6.5"s will go into the door easily (only takes a hammer tap or two, provided they aren't too deep?

And yeah, good 5.25"s in the sound bar will be a definite improvement over the hissy stock ones.

By the way, there are hatch speakers?
Never even noticed them... How hard are they to replace, and what size are they? What size will fit without modification?

I run 6.5" speakers in my doors (when they are on) didnt mod the door to fit them just sat em in and secured them using the stock mounting holes. The bottom of the panel sticks out just slightly but you dont really notice it. I also have 6.5" speaker in my soundbar I just used a piece of sheet metal to attach the speakers to the cardboard stuff that makes up the soundbar lol. Has held up nicely tho.

I don't have an actual place to work on my car (or sound bar), so I'll stick to 5.25"s in the sound bar, so I don't have to modify anything. I don't need anything super loud... I just don't want my passengers to hear hissing when I crank up my stereo.

I heard that. I just took it out and did all the work in the house for the same reason.

A word to the wise about the RCA cables in this kit - upgrade them as soon as possible. I ran these for about two years and then started noticing problems with the sound cutting out. Turns out the ceramic insulation at the connections would deteriorate and break and then sever the connection to the wires. (=no sound input to the amp).

Obviously not hugely critical - just really crappy equipment. They work fine if their all you have, but upgrading to quality wiring should be on the to-do list.

Agreed I upgraded here recently and upgraded my wires to run a 1000watt amp with a capacitor. Quality RCAs make a huge difference.
