WONT START!!!

my buddy has a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited... he left for some time and i was in charge of keeping it running. i took the battery out and and put it on the charger... when i put it back in i tryed to start it... but nothing happed.

no tick, light don't dim... just no power to the starter

however i was able to get it stated by shorting out the starter. starter is good and the battery is good.

whats going on

Check your engine starter relay to make sure it is good. Could be your Neutral Start Switch. Run the transmission thru all the gears and try to start in park and neutral.

Nevermind...I was gonna say check your connectivity but i read it again and u say you have power..
